Durability of roofing sheets

Ausschnitt der IFI-Stadt, Lagesicherheit von Dachbahnen

Since its foundation, I.F.I. has been conducting wind suction tests to determine the resistance to wind load on bonded or mechanically fastened roof waterproofing systems.

For mechanically fastened flexible sheets for roof waterproofing, failure of the test specimen is tested in accordance with EN 16002 in the I.F.I. roof and façade test rig, which has a test chamber with dimensions of 6 m x 2.5 m x 0.75 m. With the help of a computer-controlled fan combined with a pressure control flap, a defined pressure-time curve is built up in the test chamber. This enables a realistic simulation of the gust effect.

For tests on wind-permeable systems such as roof tiles, roof shingles and paving slabs, the pressure equalization between the top and underside of the roof element must be taken into account. For these systems too, we can offer you individual testing and evaluation options.

Tests on roof structures such as green roofs are also part of our portfolio. Do not hesitate to contact us for any questions.
